Filter by Keywords
Include all Keywords
- Purpose: Use this to only find bills that contain all the keywords you enter.
- Example: Typing climate and education here will only show bills that include both terms.
Include at least one Keyword
- Purpose: This finds bills that match any one of the keywords you list.
- Example: Typing transportation, highway, rail will show bills with any of those keywords.
Exclude Keywords
- Purpose: Use this to remove any bills that contain certain words you don’t want to see.
- Example: Typing tax here means any bill mentioning “tax” will be excluded from your results.
Proximity Search
- Purpose: Proximity search helps you find keywords that appear close together in the bill text.
- Example: If you enter: people w/2 state, the system searches for:
- The word "people" within 2 words of the word "state"
- This allows for variations like: "people in the state" or "people of the state"
Keywords like people, state are treated independently if not linked with /w2 or similar syntax.
Syntax tip:
- w/2 means "within 2 words"
- You can use other ranges too, e.g., education w/5 funding (finds "education" within 5 words of "funding")
